Testimonials and Reviews
"Ever since I passed the Barrier final exam at Groton School a few years ago, I have frequently referred back to my BSB books to refresh my memory about certain grammar concepts or to review tricky verb conjugations. Of course, I have had to use other grammar books since then, but I just think the BSB books are so much easier to use because there are so well designed. I am taking a Spanish Oral Expression course this year at Harvard, and whenever I don’t remember whether to use the subjunctive or the indicative with a certain sentence construction, I visualize the CHAD-ATE, ESCAPA and other helpful charts from BSB ... and I automatically know which tense to use! One of the main strengths of BSB is that all the grammar concepts are laid out and explained in a way that is easy to understand and remember. This has provided me with a solid grammar base for writing in Spanish and has strongly reinforced my speaking skills."

"When it comes time to teach the subjunctive, I put away my traditional textbook. Breaking the Barrier presents this topic far better than anybody else!"

"Breaking the Spanish Barrier is, by far, the best Spanish program I have found for learning Spanish. As a homeschooling mom, I have spent a lot of money over the years trying out expensive programs to teach my kids Spanish, that just didn't deliver on their promises. Not only is BTB very affordable, it makes what can seem like an overwhelming task--teaching a foreign language--simple and very doable for parents that don't speak the language. John Conner does a great job of organizing the class into simple step-by-step lessons that are easy to understand and fun for the students. The best part is that if you have any questions about any lesson, they are right there to help you. I am now using the program to teach Spanish to a homeschool coop and all the kids tell me it's their favorite class! In just a few short weeks, they are speaking, reading, writing and doing oral presentations to the class in Spanish. As their teacher, it's so rewarding and exciting to see them so immersed in the language in such a short period of time!"
